Development of applied research in the field of criminology. Interdisciplinary work aimed at innovation in the forensic field and the development of crime prevention programmes, forensic analysis tools, recidivism risk management and optimisation of police investigation techniques.

• Sexual Offending.Development of new detection tools for these crimes, prioritisation of suspects, assessment of the risk of recidivism of detainees and primary, secondary and tertiary prevention programmes for sexual crime.
• Gender-based violence and Femicide.Analysis of risk factors for committing crimes against women. Study of the types of perpetrators of gender violence. Detailed review of femicides.
• Cybercrime.Interdisciplinary analysis of the use of information and communication technologies for committing crimes, criminal profiles, detection and risk estimation. Special attention is paid to the criminological study of access to minors for sexual purposes through information technologies.
• Criminal discourse analysis.Forensic linguistics application for crime prevention. Textual, linguistic, psychological and criminological analysis of the discourse and communication patterns (quantitative and qualitative study of language) of those involved in sexual crimes, gender violence or cybercrimes.
• Predictive policing and Risk management.Development of effective tools for crime detection and police prioritisation of suspects who meet established legal and ethical requirements. Development and cross-cultural validation of tools for the assessment of the risk of criminal recidivism.
