Scientific-technical goals:
  • To understand the effect of ophthalmic lenses of specific designs on the progression of myopia.
  • To estimate the prevalence of refractive error in developing countries and the associated factors.
  • To estimate the prevalence of computer vision syndrome in Kenya and other countries where the mother tongue is Swahili.
  • To assess the visual outcome and quality of life in patients operated on for cataracts in middle- or low-income countries.
