The main activity of the group is focused on the development of new materials exhibiting spin transition (ST) properties, as well as their subsequent physicochemical characterisation. The synthesis of these materials will be based on coordination chemistry, using metal ions and suitable organic ligands to design molecules capable of displaying ST behaviour. In addition, the research will aim at achieving multifunctionality, that is, incorporating chemical features that confer additional properties aligned with ST. These may include luminescent properties, molecular recognition (or host¿guest chemistry), molecular porosity, conductivity, etc. The ultimate goal is to obtain new materials of technological interest, owing to their multifunctionality, for potential future applications such as sensitive and selective chemical or thermal sensors.
- Contribuir en el avance del campo de la transicion de espin con la busqueda de nuevos materiales que presenten dicha propiedad
- Metallorganic materials with spin crossover properties. The group aims to explore the synthesis of new organometallic materials through coordination chemistry using metal ions and organic ligands. The goal is for these materials to exhibit spin transition properties in conjunction with other physicochemical properties of interest.
