Master's Degree in Creative and Humanistic Translation

Double Degree Program (PDT) Universitat de València / Università degli Studi di Bergamo

This double degree agreement provides for an integrated study program (lasting 2 years) that will allow students from UV enrolled in the Degree in Translation and Interlinguistic Mediation (in any of its three tracks) to obtain the following qualifications:

  • The Degree in Translation and Interlinguistic Mediation from the Universitat de València (in any of its three tracks);
  • The Master’s Degree in Creative and Humanistic Translation from the Universitat de València; and
  • The Laurea Magistrale in Lingue Moderne per la Comunicazione e la Cooperazione Internazionale (LMCCI) from the Università degli Studi di Bergamo.

UV students will enter this PDT when they begin the 4th year of the Degree in Translation and Interlinguistic Mediation (TMI-UV), in any of its three tracks (French, English, or German as B languages), with Italian as C language (or, if applicable, with a B2/C1 level of Italian according to the Common European Framework of Reference).

The 1st year of the PDT will be completed entirely at the Università degli Studi di Bergamo (1st year of LMCCI-UNIBG, International Communication curriculum) and will be recognised as equivalent to the 4th year of TMI-UV.

As the 2nd year of this PDT, UV students will take the Master’s Degree in Creative and Humanistic Translation (MTCH) at the Universitat de València, in either the English or the French track.

Participation Requirements
Participation in this PDT is reserved for four students enrolled in the 4th year of TMI-UV (in any of its three tracks), having passed all core and compulsory subjects from the first three years of the TMI-UV degree.

Selection Criteria
The selection process will take place during the second semester of the previous academic year (3rd year of TMI-UV). The selection criteria include:

  • a motivation letter, justifying the interest in the PDT;
  • the grade point average of the academic record;
  • an oral interview (in English/French/German and Italian).

Selected students must meet the enrollment requirements for the current academic year at the Universitat de València and may apply for ERASMUS scholarships for study mobility, according to current regulations.
