Academic, scientific or professional interest: The proposed new Master's Degree in International and European Union Studies is part of the offer presented by the Universitat de València in these studies for over a decade, specifically since the 2006/2007 academic year. With this new proposal, the Universitat de València aims to continue its commitment to international and European studies in the offer of official Master's Degrees corresponding to the branch of social and legal sciences. The Faculty of Law of the Universitat de València offers degrees in Law, Political and Public Administration Sciences and Criminology. The Double Degrees in Law and Political and Public Administration Sciences, Law and Criminology, in Law and Business Management and Administration, and in Sociology and Political and Public Administration Sciences are also taught. International and European studies are present in all these degrees before mentioned, either by offering specific itineraries in international issues such as the "international legal itinerary" foreseen in the Degree in Law, or by incorporating international and/or European subjects in the optional subjects. The Faculty of Law's commitment to international and European studies is reinforced by a double Spanish-French degree in Law and a double Spanish-Russian degree in Political and Public Administration Sciences. In fact, the new Master's Degree in International and European Union Studies aims to continue complementing the Master's training offer with the possibility of studying in the international and European sphere, focusing on the political-legal problems of international relations as well as European regional integration. In order to strengthen its content relating to International Studies (while maintaining the presence of Europeans, in particular those of the European Union), a double specialisation is envisaged. The student will have to choose between deepening the issues related to interstate relations by offering a specialization in " International and European public challenges"; or specialize in the growing relations of a transnational nature by deepening the so-called "Private international and European challenges". The first option, the “ International and European public challenges”, includes the study of traditional concerns as well as the new challenges of the international system. The second one, the “Private international and European challenges”, focuses on the examination of issues related to international trade as well as the judicial and extrajudicial resolution of disputes arising mainly between private persons in this field of activity.
