Master's Degree in Language and Literature Research
A specific requirement for admission to the Master’s Degree in Research in Languages and Literatures will be to have a B2 level of proficiency in at least one of the two official languages of the UV, Spanish or Valencian. This level will be accredited either by presenting an official certificate or by means of a personal interview with the Master’s programme direction. In the case of the interview, in addition to the programme direction, there will be teaching staff from the UVEG (or FFTiC) who are accredited and have experience as examiners for the Junta Qualificadora or for the DELE examinations of the Cervantes Institute. The criteria of the CEFR for level B2 will be followed.
Before the interview, the candidate must write a reasoned statement explaining the motivation for studying the Master’s Degree in Research in Languages and Literatures. The interview, which will last about fifteen minutes, will be organised around an oral presentation on the candidate’s previous studies, language skills, etc., followed by a formal conversation on aspects related to the academic field and to the statement submitted.
Afterwards, the candidate will be asked to read a text related to one of the subjects in the curriculum in order to assess reading comprehension.
For the assessment, competences, communicative activities and strategies in the academic field and in formal contexts will be taken into account, following the CEFR scales for level B2.
With regard to the specific admission criteria for the Master's Degree in Language and Literature Research, the scoring system will be as follows:
- points equivalent to your academic record calculated out of 10
- 5 points for having a degree in philology or translation
- 3 points for having a degree in another field
- 3 points for having a master's degree in philology or translation
