Friends and Former Students of the Universitat de València (AlumniUV) has organised six activities on October. The first one is a workshop of initiation to Kinomichi, the art of moving harmonously in the space to release physical and emotional tensions. The registration will be open from 23rd to 30th September and the sessions will take place on 2nd, 16th, 23rd, and 30th October.

This proposal is the first one of the season within the cycle ‘Alumni Comparteix’, addressed to the members of the collective and is totally free. The workshop will be taught by Carmen Alfaro, Physical Education professor and member of AlumniUV, and will take place at the university tatami of the Tarongers Campus, from 18:00 to 21:00h.

With Kinomichi, a practise that comes from Paris, where it was created by the aikidō master Masamichi Noro, and that has already been in Valencia for over 30 years, “you can also learn to work in line and harmony with your partner, maintaining the centre of gravity by respecting their space”, explain from AlumniUV. “A huge innovation in the world of the martial arts, since the martial tone of the fight and the confrontation get lost to become a beautiful and magic act”, they add.

On the other side, the collective of the Universitat de València takes up this month the Reading Club, which will meet on 6th October, at 18:00h, in the Palau de l’Exposició Library to discuss one of the key works of the Russian realism, ‘The Idiot’ by Dostoyevsky. The people interested have to contact firstly with the AlumniUV office through the phone number 96 353 10 70 or via email to amics@uv.es

Walks around Valencia and Routes of Villages
Also, the activities organised in collaboration with the Travel Club Fil-per-Randa continue. On October, it is organised three walks around the city centre. The first of them, on 17th, will go in depth on the Roman architecture in Valencia; on 18th, it has been organised a visit to the dams of the Turia; and on 31st, it will take place the Nit de les Ànimes, a local tradition that both entities want to emphasise facing the USA Halloween.

On 24th October, it will be carried out a trip to Puertomingalvo, within the programme ‘Ruta de los Pueblos’ (‘Route of Villages’), being a municipality full of popular architecture, nestled in a fortified enclosure with medieval portals and settled on a rocky promontory lead by the Castle, one of the best preserved fortifications of the Lower Aragon.
