
Carlos Esplugues, Professor of Private International Law at the University of Valencia, was elected new president the AEPDIRI (Spanish Association of Professors of International Law and International Relations) on Friday. The mandate is to for the next four years. The election took place in the framework of regular XXV conferences of the association dedicated to global governance, held at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona.
The AEPDIRI includes teachers belonging to the knowledge areas of public international law, private international law and international relations and brings together nearly 700 associates at this time. The AEPDIRI has over 30 years of age and is a reference in these three areas of knowledge through the publication of the Spanish Journal of International Law, Electronic Journal of International Studies and Spanish Yearbook of International Law.
Professor Esplugues has a Master's Degree in Law from Harvard Law School, and Master's Degree of Science in Law at Edinburgh University. He is the author of nearly two hundred publications in the field of private international law. The new president of the AEPDIRI is a regular visiting professor at several universities in Europe, America and Asia.
