Four students from Universitat de València are awarded the first prize at the national congress of medicine students (CNEM) celebrated this month at Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche. The awarded are Javier Navarrete, Alberto Comín (both in their second year), and Joan Ferràs and Guillem Policarpo (both in their fourth year). They presented the study on the ageing’s effects on the aortas titled ‘Efecto del envejecimiento en la relajación dependiente de endotelio en aortas de ratones hembra con senescencia acelerada’.
The study has been supervised by Gloria Segarra, lecturer and researcher at Unidad Cardiovascular in the Departament de Fisiologia at Universitat de València.
The study was carried out during the summer and september with the help of Segarra and the rest of the research group in the laboratory. The students thanked Segarra for her help and for giving them the chance.
The congress took place last October 17 to 19 in Elche. All students of medicine in the world were able to take part in the lectures, workshops, and seminars. The main part was the presentation of studies conducted by students, where our students got the first prize.
