Full professor Ángel Blasco is appointed president of the National Consultative Commission on Collective Agreements

Full professor of labor law at Universitat de València, Ángel Blasco Pellicer, has been appointed president of the National Consultative Commission on Collective Agreements (Comisión Consultiva Nacional de Convenios Colectivos). This is an autonomous organization, attached to the Spanish Ministry for Employment and Social Security; it is collegial and has a tripartite construction, where the Central State Administration, trade unions, and the most representative business associations are represented.

This commission is in charge of solving questions – in a non binding way – on the functional field of agreements, as well as issue reports and ruling in cases related to collective agreements.


Ángel Blasco Pellicer was born in Simat de la Valldigna, 1956. He is a full university professor in the Departament de Dret del Treball at Universitat de València, where he directed this department for eigth years. Hi is author of many scientific publications on the different fields of his discipline (more than 20 books, many specialized papers published in journals and, and about a hundred book chapters). Moreover, he has worked as a lawyer and he has been a member of the Valencian bar association (1979-1974), president of the Economic and Social Council of the Valencian Community (1996-1997), referee for SIMA and TAL of the Valencian Community and substitute magistrate at the Valencian Community’s TSJ.
