
The full university professor of the Universitat de València Ángel Blasco Pellicer takes office as a magistrate for the Supreme Court on next Monday, 7th September. Blasco joins the Room IV, which deals with labour issues. Another professor of the Faculty of Law of the Universitat de València, Francisco Javier Orduña, full university professor in Civil Law, is also a magistrate of the High Court.
Blasco accesses the post due to the rules of distribution of renowned lawyers and jurists. The decision was taken in the plenary session of the General Council of the Judiciary on 22th July.
Ángel Blasco Pellicer (Sigmat de la Valldigna, 1956), full university professor of the Department of Employment Law of the Universitat de València, of which he was the director during eight years, is author of numerous scientific publications in the different fields that form his discipline (author or co-author of more than 20 books, as well as more than 100 articles in specialised journals and book chapters). Also, he was a practising lawyer of the Illustrious Bar Association of Valencia (1979-1994), president of the Economic and Social Council of the Valencian Community (1996-1997), an arbiter of SIMA (Mediation and Arbitration Interconfederal Service) and of the Valencian Community TAL (Labour Arbitration Court), a substitute judge of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Valencian Community and president of the National Advisory Commission for Collective Agreements (2012 until today).
