Ana Díaz Medina Foundation recalls the figure of Concepción Medina, Ana’s mother, a teacher who studied in Valencia. Among her last wills, it was the creation of this foundation and these awards-giving placed in Valencia during three years in a row, and afterwards in Madrid, where she finished her training as Teacher.

Concepción Medina studied during the last years of the Second Spanish Republic and she was in the teaching profession for a year. The Francoism disqualified her from holding public office so she was never able to work in public schools, although she could work as a private teacher. The awarded, Gema Sánchez Milán, was born in Valencia in 1992. She started her education in San Luis public school and then in the IES La Hoya de Buñol (secondary school), where she obtained magna cum laude in Bachillerato (Spanish upper secondary school education) in the category of Sciences and Technology. At the same time, she studied music in the CIM la Armónica and in San Rafael Municipal Professional Conservatory in Buñol where she finished her “Grado Medio” (Professional studies) in transverse flute.

In University, she studied the Degree in Primary School Education in the Faculty of Teacher Training of the Universitat de València, where she graduated in 2014. Nowadays, she is focused on language studies: she is enrolled in a Master's Degree in Bilingual Education (English - Spanish) and the qualification in foreign language.
