Henk Bolink, researcher at the Institute for Molecular Science of the Universitat de València (ICMol), at the Science Park, has been awarded with one of the Research Excellence Prize RSEQ 2016. The Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry has highlighted the contributions of Bolink in molecular electronics and, more specifically, in the development of electroluminescent and photovoltaic materials and devices.
The prize, agreed unanimously by the Governing Board of the RSEQ, is given among the approximately 4,000 associates that stand out in their professional activity. Bolink is one of the five awarded with the Research Excellence Prize 2016, which will be given next 10 November in Madrid.

He carried out his doctoral thesis at the University of Groningen in Holland in 1997 and, afterwards, he started working at the multinational chemistry company DSM as researcher and R&D project manager. After three years, Bolink was employed as Director of Materials Development in the unit PolyLED of the multinational company Philips. And in 2003 he started working at ICMol with the aim of developing a new research line about opto-electronic molecular devices. Until now, Bolink has published 178 scientific articles in international magazines which have been cited 5,4000 times, and he has a h-index of 41. He has been main researcher in eleven projects financed by the Marco Programme of the European Union, and three of them are active at the moment.
