Enguera opened on Friday 2 November the Universitat de la Tardor: paisatges i patrimoni cultural (Autumn University: Landscapes and Cultural heritage) , a conference organized by the University of Valencia, the Enguera Council and the CREC-Provincial Council in collaboration with IETEC. The aim of this event is to spread the knowledge of the representative subjects about past, present and future of the town of the Canal de Navarrés. It will deal with the population’ roots, the valuable archaeological, landscape or linguistic of this territory, as well as the future scenarios for the enguerinos (inhabitants of Enguera).
La Casa de la Cultura (cultural centre) of Enguera welcomes the Universitat de la Tardor: paisatges i patrimoni cultural in conference sessions divided into four thematic sections , the days 2, 9, 16 and 23 November.
The conferences of 9 November will deal with the local history of Enguera and its region. Vicente Manuel Sanz local chronicler will be in charge of teaching the first lecture, the second at 20:00 hours will be held by Nuria Tabanera teacher of the Department of Contemporary History.
The session on Friday 16 November will focus on language and culture. At 18:30, Emili Casanova, author of the book, and Francesc Ferrer, editor, will present the book Altres Parlars Valencians.Mariola Aparicio professor of the Department of Teaching language and Literature and Emili Casanova professor of the Department of Catalan will teach the following two conferences of the afternoon.
On Friday 23 November it will take place the last session of the Universitat de la Tardor of Enguera.The speakers, Marina Aparicio from IGOP-UAB and Rafael Castelló, professor of the Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology will check the progress of whether is going the Valencian and Enguera society.
This initiative aims that Enguera’ neighbors and their environment rediscover the basic aspects that define their territory from the point of view of specialists from the University and the region.These conferences seek, therefore, to demonstrate the value of their heritage, language, traditions, landscape and history, as well as to set up future scenarios and their alternatives for the local society.
The Universitat de La Tardor de Enguera: paisatge i patrimoni cultural is open to researchers, students, cultural associations and main public. Certificate of attendance will be given to those who attend at least 80 per cent of the lectures
The University of Valencia through the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial, Projection and Participation seeks to promote the role of the University in the Valencian entities (communities, councils, associations), to project the potential of the researching community in local societies and to offer to the citizens, training and knowledge in areas of interest for their territory, such as environment, economy, history, society, law, heritage, didactics, health and so on.
