
On Wednesday 11 February at 19h at the Cultural Centre La Nau, Jordi Sevilla is presenting his last book titled “Seis meses que condujeron al rescate” (“Six months that led into bailout”) ed. Deusto, 2015. His work analyses the economic scenery lived in Spain (raise in the risk premium, bank rescue operations, cuts imposed by Europe, etc.) after the elections of 2011.
During his presentation, the author will be accompanied by Ximo Puig, secretary-general of the PSPV, Javier Andrés, full university professor of Economic Analysis at Universitat de València, and the book editor, Roger Domingo. There will be a moderate and presented debate by the Vice-Principal for Culture and Equality of Universitat de València, Antonio Ariño. The act will be held at the Aula Magna (Great Hall). To Josep Piqué, this book “reminds one of the decisive moments of our recent history”. According to Cristina Garmendia, this is a “very well-written book that gives examples about how the power dynamics and the political parties can affect the fate of this country”.
Jordi Sevilla (Valencia, 1956) is a State Economist who took the public examinations. He has served as a deputy for three legislatures, as an Economic Policy Secretary of the PSOE Executive from 2000 to 2004, as a Spokesman on economy at the Congress of Deputies and as a Minister of Public Administration between 2004 and 2007. At present, he is Senior Councillor of PricewaterhouseCoopers.
