The University of Valencia La Nau Cultural Centre has holded this Friday 7 December, the premiere of ‘Valtari Film experiment’, directed by Sigur Rós. The project of the Icelandic band consists on video clips, films and other audiovisual documents, which have been sent by fans of the band and renowned filmmakers inspired by the latest album ‘Valtari’. Apart from Barcelona, Valencia has been the only Spanish city selected to host this event.

The event is organized by the digital magazine ‘Caleidoscópica’, with the support of the University of Valencia, through the Discussion Forum of the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture, Equality and Communication.

This project consists on a worldwide projection, across the seven continents (even in Antarctica), of the audiovisual works inspired in ‘Valtari’, the latest album of the band.

Over the 7th of July weekend of December ‘Valtari Mistry Film’ will take place. It will include both official videos and videos made by fans, with music of ‘Valtari’ as background music. The event will be developed worldwide, in areas where we could find cinemas, concert halls and even hairdressings.

After the launch of the latest album, Sigur Rós gave to a dozen filmmakers the task of creating whatever inspires them while listening to their songs. The result is a collection of videos of important artistic value. Some of the filmmakers are Ànima Har'el, Andrea Arnold or Flori Sigismondi, among others.

The band Sigur Rós has become a worldwide referent in music that stands out for its creativity and capacity for renewal. The band headline Dcode festival (Madrid) and they offered one of the most acclaimed concerts. After this great success, they have announced a new live date in Barcelona, 16 February.

The event in Valencia is organized from the digital magazine ‘Caleidoscòpica’, a website for young people focused on the music that supports new projects and initiatives of interest. The magazine was published for the first time in September and it did not hesitate in supporting Sigur Rós and offering this free experience to the greatest possible number of people.
