The professor of Psychology of the Universitat de València Moya Albiol presents ‘La empatía en la empresa’ (Plataforma Editorial, 2016) this Wednesday, 4 May, at 19:00, in the Aula Magna of the Cultural Centre La Nau. The book is about the empathy as a vital human skill in the private sphere as well as in work world.
Apart from the intervention of the author, will present the act Ismael Quintanilla, professor of Work Psychology in the Universitat de València, and Roberto Luna, chair in Business Organisation in the Universitat de València.
The publications pretends to be a manual about empathy and its applications in working world, advantages, application fields, as well as offer a basic lines to be more empathic.
In a model of transit from one competitive model to another more cooperative one, where people, their feelings and circumstance, their interests and skills are considered, the empathy in companies and institutions is shown ad an indispensable tool for a high efficiency and better labour relationships.
The author points that is ‘fundamental having empathic leaders, in big, medium and small companies, to face the public, for good relationships between partners, to understand our superiors’ and all of that results in better results, more productivity and social and economical profits.

The author
Luis Moya Albiol is tenured professor accredited as full professor of the Department of Psychobiology of the Universitat de València. He is doctor in Psychology and Extraordinary Doctor Award by this university. He gave teaching in the studies of Psychology and Criminology and the is head of the first Master’s degree in Neuro-criminology. He leads a research team about social Neuroscience, focused in the study of social stress and violence, like the co-operation, neuro-happiness and empathy. Nowadays, he works in investigations about surrogacy as a model of empathy and altruism. He has published more than 100 articles in scientific journals, conducted various research projects and thesis, and is author of the university manual ‘Neurocriminología’ (Pirámide, 2015) and from the science informative books ‘La empatía, entenderla para entender a los demás’, ‘Escucha tu cerebro: la clave de la Neurofelicidad’ and ‘La empatía en la empresa’ (Plataforma, 2014, 2015 y 2016; respectively). Moreover, he has contributed to the spreading of the science on television, radio, specialised journals and press.
