Laura Serna Torres, student in the IES Sixto Marco in Elx, and Anna Sirerol Talens, from IES Jaume II El Just in Tavernes de la Valldigna, have been awarded in the third edition of Premios Llegir sense Fronteres. This award is organized by the Universitat’s chair Càtedra de Divulgación de la Ciència. Entities such as Fundació Bromera per al Foment de la Lectura, the newspaper Levante-EMV, CAM bank’s Obra Social and Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología (FECYT) collaborate as well.
Serna has won the prize in the section ‘Educación Secundaria Obligatoria’ after submitting a paper on the book El cerebro poliédrico by Xavier Durán. Sirerol has won the section Bachillerato with her paper on the work of Ramon Gomis ¿El fin de la diabetes? The will receive a laptop and a book collection published by the chair of science popularization.
These prize’s goal is the promotion of reading, research and creativity among secondary schools and upper secondary school students. The prizes will be celebrated on January 19th, at 19:30, at Club Diario Levante. The Vice-Principal for Research and Scientific Policy will attend the event as well as the director of Fundació Bromera per al Foment de la Lectura, Josep Antoni Fluixà.
