The Universitat de València presents one more year the Universitat d’Hivern d’Ontinyent, result of the close collaboration between the city hall of Ontinyent and ADEIT University-Business Foundation. This event opens its doors on Monday, 23 of November. It will consist of five sessions divided into four thematic areas where the territory is the main subject.
The Universitat de València, through the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation, in collaboration with the Fundació Campus Ontinyent and Caixa Ontinyent, organises from the 23 to the 27 of November the 5th edition of the “Universitat d’Hivern d’Ontinyent. Tiempo de territorio”. The mayor of Ontinyent and the president of the Fundació Campus Ontinyent, Jorge Rodríguez, expressed his satisfaction and highlighted this new multidisciplinary reflection opportunity. As pointed out by the vice-principal Jorge Hermosilla, this initiative aims to “consolidate the relationship between the Universitat de València, Ontinyent and the Vall d’Albaida through an academic offering that complements the degrees already taught at municipality.
The conferences are programmed around four modules: an economy seminar coordinated by Maria Teresa Sanchis (Department of Economic Analysis. Universitat de València). A seminar of the Studies Institute of the Vall d’Albaida (IEVA), directed by José Cantó (Department of Experimental and Social Sciences Teaching. Universitat de València) and Josep Calatayud (president of the IEVA). Another on the current perspectives on childhood education, led by the vice-deans of the Faculty of Teacher Training of the Universitat de València Noelia Ibarra (Department of Language and Literature Teaching) and Dino Salinas (Department of Teaching and Scholastic Organisation). And the last one, on corporal expression and dance, coordinated by the vice-dean of the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences of the Universitat de València, the professor Pere Molina (Department of Physical and Sport Education).
The seminar on economics will be on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. After the inauguration on Monday, this module will start with two round tables around the Central Regions of the Valencian Community. The first one, of a political nature, will be moderated by the vice-principal Jorge Hermosilla. It will count with the participation of the mayor of Ontinyent, Jorge Rodríguez; the mayor of Alcoi, Toni Francés; the mayor of Gandia, Diana Morant; and the mayor of Xàtiva, Roger Cerdà. The second round table, of an academic and business nature, will count with the participation of Julia Salom (Department of Geography. Universitat de València) and Amat Sánchez (Department of Applied Economics. Universitat de València), as well as with Ramón Soler (president of the Economy Cercle of the Safor region), Rafael Pla (president od the Business Confederation of the Vall d’Albaida-COEVAL) and Jordi Cortés (chief of the Company Network of Caixa Ontinyent). The module on economics will also include a conference by Alejandro Mollá (Department of Marketing and Market Research. Universitat de València) and a course on ideas generation and communication taught by ADEIT University-Business Foundation of the Universitat de València.
The seminar of the Studies Institute of the Vall d’Albaida will be celebrated at the Cultural Centre of Caixa Ontinyent during the evenings of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and will include conferences by Alejandro Mayordomo (Department of Comparative Education and Education History. Universitat de València), Carlos L. Alfonso (Department of Labour and Social Security Law. Universitat de València), Joaquín Azagra (Department de Economic Analysis. Universitat de València), Ricard Pérez (historian and politician) and Carmen Alborch (politician and senator).
The module on the current perspectives on childhood education will take place at the Ontinyent Campus on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Within this subject area there will be presentations by Carmen Díez (teacher, educational psychologist and poetess) that will speak about the learning through play and fantasy; and Teresa Godall (Department of Teaching of Corporal Expression Teaching. Universitat de Barcelona) who will speak about the topic of the adult’s presence and the infant’s body.
On Friday evening there will be a seminar of corporal expression and dance. The retired professor Luis Antolín (Department of Physical and Sports Education. Universitat de València) will offer a conference on physical education and the expression activities; and Eugenia García, professor of Body Expression of the Catholic University of Valencia, will focus on the choreographic landscapes. The session will end with this round table on training experiences where the dancers, choreographers and dance teachers Alicia Herrero and Cristina Puchades, and the actor and acrobatics and scenic movements technics Luis Mellá will participate.
This 5th edition of the Universitat d’Hivern d’Ontinyent is part of the collaboration line between the Universitat de València and the City Hall of Ontinyent. This agreement aims to project the potential of the research community on its closest geographical space, to promote the presence and involment of the Universitat de València in the Valencian regions and to transfer information, research and knowledge beyond the university classrooms, in a free Universitat d’Hivern open to all public of Ontinyent and the region of the Vall d’Albaida.
