The Vice-principal for Territorial Projection and Participation, Jorge Hermosilla, inaugurates today, January the 24th, at 19:00, the exhibition ‘La Universitat de València y sus entornos naturales: el Parque Natural del Túria’ (Universitat de València and its nature areas: the Natural Park of Turia river), which is taking place at Gran Teatro Antonio Ferrandis de Paterna. The event is going to be opened by Lorenzo Agustí, major of Paterna; Alfredo José González, general director of the natural area; Juan Orts, assistant director-general of the natural area; Salvador Villalba, manager of the natural park of Turia river; Ángel Morales, commissioner of the exhibition; Josep Montesinos, head of initiative, and the Vice-principal himself.

The exhibition, promoted by the Universitat and the Support Unit of the Office of the Vice-principal for Territorial Projection and Participation, commemorates the 5th anniversary of the declaration of the Turia river’s natural park. It has 24 panels made by the teaching and researching staff from different Universitat’s departments and by natural park’s technicians and other experts related to this part of the river.

It is a multidisciplinary exhibition, including the different habitat in the natural park (river, wood and garden), which has a great botanical, faunal, landscape, agronomic, historical and cultural interest.

Jorge Hermosilla has shown a great deal of interest in the inauguration because it is a pioneer exhibition in the town of Paterna. This town is regional head of Horta Nord and it is closely related (socially, economically, culturally and environmentally) to the river. The exhibition will be open from 24th to 30th , January.
