The Patronato Martínez Guerricabeitia, belonging to the Universitat de València’s General Foundation, begins its annual edition of art curricular courses. Registration started yesterday, January 12th, and four courses on museology, cinema, social networks within the cultural field and comics will be offered. These courses are scheduled between February 7th and March 23rd and they can be recognized as 1 or 2 credits depending on the course’s length.
This edition will start with the course El patrimonio cinematográfico: imagen y memoria (Film patrimony: image and memory). The lecturer of art history, Áurea Ortiz, will look through cinema as art, culture, industrial product and document. She will examine the role of film libraries as well.
One of the innovations this year is the course Relaciones cómic/política (Connection between comics and politics) by José Miguel Chuliá, which will analyze the ideological and aesthetic background of comics through European and Spanish examples.
A new course, El patrimonio y la gestión cultural: nuevas profesiones para las redes sociales (Patrimony and culture management: new professions for the social networks) by Jorge Sebastián Lozano and Joaquín Soler, is added. Information and communication technologies are constantly changing and new ways of tackling old topics, such as culture, patrimony, art and history, are born.
The programme will conclude with Exposiciones temporales de arte contemporáneo (Temporary exhibitions on contemporary art) by the lecturer of the Universidad de Murcia, Isabel Tejeda. The course will deal with the different ways of displaying art since XIX century to the present day.
