The professor José Miguel Soriano del Castillo, who is the delegate of the Principal for Cooperation of the Universitat de València and director of the Development Studies UNESCO´s Chair, has been appointed managing editor of the ‘Spanish Magazine of Human Nutrition and Dietetics’. Soriano replaces the doctor Iva Marques, Nutrition professor at the Universidad de Zaragoza.
The ‘Spanish Magazine of Human Nutrition and Dietetics’ is the scientific magazine of the Spanish Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (the former Spanish Foundation of Dietitian and Nutritionists) and leader in the field of human nutrition and dietetics. It publishes scientific articles that have been anonymously checked by experts in the field.
The magazine, published quarterly, publishes research articles and reviews on clinical and hospital nutrition, applied dietetics and diet therapy, community nutrition and public health, basic and applied nutrition, food and sanitary education, social and commercial catering, culinary technology and gastronomy, food science, toxicology and food safety, food culture, sociology and food anthropology, humanitarian cooperation and, in short, all areas of human nutrition and dietetics.
The articles of the magazines are indexed in the following database: SCOPUS; OCLC WORLDCAT; Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO); Red Iberoamericana de Innovación y Conocimiento Científico (REDIB); Sistema Regional de Información en Línea para Revistas Científicas de América Latina, el Caribe, España y Portugal (LATINDEX); Directory of Open Access Journal (DOAJ); y European Reference Index for the Humanities (ERIH PLUS).
José Miguel Soriano del Castillo is full professor of the Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the Universitat de València where he gives lessons of Nutrition in emergency situations. He is also director of the University Clinic of Nutrition, Physical Activity and Physiotherapy of the Lluís Alcanyís Foundation, the Gastrolab of the Institute of Material Science and the Food&HealthLab of the VLC/CAMPUS International Campus of Excellence; and co-director, together with doctor Merino Torres, of the Mixed Research Unit on Endocrinology, Nutrition and Clinical Dietetics of the Universitat de València-Institute of Health Research La Fe.
