Ignasi Lerma.

Sustainability’s ERI (Universitat de València’s Interdisciplinary search structure about sustainability, environment, economy, education and society, ERISOST) has began the digitalization of the environment press archive of Casa Verda. In a year, this archive will be available for all the university community through Roderic repository.

This work will put in order, rearrange and digitalization of a vast press archive that goes from 1978 to 2008; it will also verify and renew directory’s database. The archive is made up of 78,500 news published in those years in the main Spanish newspapers (El País, ABC, La Vanguardia, etc.) and, particularly, in Valencian newspapers (Levante, Las Provincias, Diario de Valencia, etc.). A collection of 1,200 posters on environmental issues is also part of the archive. Filing work is being done by Ángeles Ibáñez, expert in library science. ERI’s director, Ignasi Lerma, has stressed the importance of the archive for environmental studies carried out at Universitat de València from different interdisciplinary approaches.

Last year, Universitat de València was donated a library fund, documentary collection, press archive and databases from Fondo de Documentación del Medio Ambiente-Casa Verda. The library fund and the scientific journals are now part of Biblioteca de Ciencias in Burjassot Campus.
