Three projects of the Universitat de València have been awarded different prizes in the Yuzz Awards. One of them, of the young student of Mathematics, Pilar Asensi, has won the first prize. The restless mind of this young entrepreneur has designed a multiplatform in the cloud that enables the electronic management of commercial documents.
The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has granted the Chemistry Nobel Prize 2016 to three of the major makers of molecular machines. One of them, Jean Pierre Sauvage, is well-known in the Universitat de València, since he has been invited several times by the Molecular Science Institute (ICMol). Moreover, Pablo Gaviña, tenured university lecturer of Organic Chemistry, worked with him in the Université de Estrasbourg, during a postdoctoral stay between 1995 and 1997.
The presence of Valencian in the legal field is currently almost non-existent. In turn, the percentage of lessons in Valencian in the Law Degree in the Universitat de València is already of a 37% and it is expected to grow in years to come. In order to approach both realities, on 2 November it was hold the conference ‘Valencian in the legal field: reality and opportunities’, where it has also been presented the project ‘Jurist in Valencian’, which will be a formative itinerary addressed to the student body of the faculty to promote and increase the value of the use of our own language.
An amalgam of textures and forms occupies these days the Exhibition Hall of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. The look is absorbed in some apparent leaves that light the microscope of fluorescence and it stops in the remarkable drop of turquoise paint artistically focused with a powerful and inverted lens. However, these attractive pictures are, in reality, bacteria, fungus and parasites causing severe and infectious diseases. The doctor Àngel Ros is the author of this exhibition.
