A total of 45,997 people (39,800 undergraduate and 6,197 postgraduate students) have the right to vote on next 19 November in the students' elections for the partial renovation of the Senate of the Universitat de València. The great innovation this year is the pilot experience of the electronic vote in some degrees. Schools will open their ballot boxes from 10:00 to 19:00.

All the information is available in the web of the Electoral Commission: http://www.uv.es/jelectoral. Apart from the election of the 75 student representatives in the University Senate, elections for the renovation of vacancies in other estates and to choose the members of the centre’s committees will also be celebrated the same day.

The great innovation this year is the electronic vote. Students from the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences, from the Master's Degree in Secondary Education Teaching and from Ontinyent’s Campus (in any degree that is taught there) will vote electronically for the University Senate and for the centre’s committees.

In order to vote electronically, it is necessary to obtain an electoral key through a very simple procedure. To do it, it is necessary to enter the electronic vote portal (voto.uv.es). The institutions can be seen in the web page of the UV Electoral Commission (www.uv.es/jelectoral). Once the portal is activated and you have access to the program, it will guide you to obtain the key. It will be possible to obtain the key from Tuesday 17 November, but it will not be possible to vote until 19 November at 10:00.

The program will give the students of the Master's Degree in Secondary Education Teaching the option to decide in which centre, where the master is taught, they want to vote (Faculty of Teacher Training or the Faculty of Philosophy and Education Sciences).

As they are able to vote in two elections, the students will have to obtain a key for each election (the program will show two options). For those who obtain the key on the 19 November from 10:00 am, the program will allow them to vote immediately after obtaining the key, but if they wish to vote in both elections they will have to obtain a key for each election and vote once in each one of them.

The program guarantees the absolute confidentiality of the vote and does not keep information that allows identifying a person’s identity.

The electoral campaign starts this Monday 9 November.
