Aula Magna of the Cultural Centre La Nau of Universitat de València hosted this Thursday a tribute ceremony for the “10 de Alaquàs” in the 40th anniversary of their detention. In the session participated eight of the prisoners, and representatives of political parties and of the civil society. The attendees were arrested and brought to a Law Enforcement court, where they were charged with an offence of unlawful association. According to the judicial documentation, the meeting had the objective of constituting the Democratic Council for the Valencian Country with the idea of creating an autonomous government. On 12th July 1975, “Las Provincias” published an accession document with the prisoners, signed by 93 university professors, among them Manuel Sánchez Ayuso, José María del Rivero, Manuel Broseta Pont, Amando de Miguel, Ferran Domingo, Manuel Sanchis Guarner, Aurelio Marínez, Rafael Ll. Ninyoles, Josep Vicent Marqués, Damià Mollà, Víctor Fuentes, Josep Lluís Blasco, Alfons Cucó, Celia Amorós, Pedro Ruiz Torres, Juan Martín Queralt, Vicent Llombart, Emèrit Bono, Segundo Bru, Clementina Ródenas, Luis Espinosa, and Carmen Alborch.
