The Universitat de València exhibits at Consell Agrari in Sueca ‘La Universitat de València y sus entornos naturales: el Parque Natural de la Albufera’ (Universitat de València and its nature reserves: L’Albufera nature reserve) until January the 15th. This multidisciplinary exhibition goes over the lagoon’s history and the economic activities around it.
Among the 23 exhibitions panels, several topics are dealt with: the process of the lagoon’s historical formation; fauna and vegetation; pollution and water quality, (paleo)limnology and edafology; dunes and meshes restoration; the main economic activities in the area (fishing, ricefield, industry) and the hydraulic patrimony landamark (irrigation ditches and tancats) present around L’Albufera.
The Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation, Jorge Hermosilla, inaugurated this exhibition on December the 23rd. Some other figures attended the event, such as: Salvador Campillo, Sueca’s mayor; José Segarra, L’Albufera nature reserve’s manager; Dimas Vázquez, city councilor for agriculture, and political group Compromís’ deputy, Joan Baldoví.
Jorge Hermosilla expressed his interest in inaugurating this pioneering exhibition at the Ribera Baixa region’s capital. Sueca is an emblematic town for its close social, economic, cultural, environmental and landscape ties with L’Albufera.
This exhibition was organized by Universitat de València with the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation’ Support Unit. It has 23 exhibition panels made by some teaching and researching staff, some technicians from L’Albufera nature reserve and other experts involved.
