The Universitat participates in an international training program about the Silk Road

The Universitat de València participates in the UNWTO Silk Road Training and Capacity Building Program of the World Tourism Organisation. The program is led by the full university professor Aurora Pedro Bueno from the Faculty of Economics. The sessions will take place during October and November. Students and graduates interested in the development of the Silk Road as a tourism initiative can attend the event.

Besides, this initiative is especially addressed to agents of the National Tour Association (NTA) of the countries of the Silk Road which participate in the World Tourism Organisation’s (UMWTO) program. The registration period ends on 1 May.

The main goal is to train participants with technician knowledge and to increase the quality of the information in areas like national and transnational cooperation, destination management and development of touristic routes.

The UNWTO Silk Road Training and Capacity Building Programme is led by the full university professor Aurora Pedro Bueno, from the Department of Applied Economics. It will consist on 100 hours of lessons that will result in 10 ECTS, including an online course about Tourism Strategic Planning and the Silk Road (from 16th to 29th October 2017) 2.5 ECTS; an online course about Project Management about the Silk Road (from 30th October to 12th November 2017) 2.5 ETCS; and an on-site learning course in Madrid or Valencia (from 20th to 29th November 2017). All the sessions will be taught in English.

As a part of the training course of the Silk Road, those participants who have successfully passed it will be able to work in the implementation of projects that have been agreed through a voluntary programme.

The Office of the Vice-Principal for International Relations and Cooperation within the framework of the Silk Road Program collaborates through the Faculty of Economics along with the Themis Foundation which will take place in Madrid and Valencia.
