
The visual artist and activist Yolanda Domínguez (Madrid, 1977) gave last Tuesday 31 the conference ‘Cambiar la imagen para cambiar el mundo’. It took place at 19:00h at the Principal Peset Hall of Residence within the activities planned for the Equality Unit. The ceremony was hosted by María Such, general director of the Valencian Institute of Women and organised with the collaboration of the Feminist Circle.
Graduated in Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid, Yolanda Domínguez has also done a Master’s degree in Arts and New Technologies at the Universidad Europea of Madrid and in Conception and Creative Photography at the EFTI School, in Madrid.
Visual artist and activist, her work does not appear in museums but it is well-known thanks to the social networks. Her work is focused on the woman, the gender stereotypes, and the disparities by using a fresh and suggestive language. Likewise, she uses the irony to create situations that force the person who is looking at it to participate in promoting awareness.
