The Universitat de València and Alzira’s Town Hall call the XXII Estudi General European Scientific Dissemination Award in collaboration with Edicions Bromera, within the awards ‘Ciutat d’Alzira’. The reward amount is 12.000 euros and the period for the submission of applications will remain open until next 12 January. The awarded book will be edited in Valencian in the collection ‘Sense Fronteres’.
The award has the aim to encourage the production and dissemination of works which make the new scientific and technological developments available to the public, and to disseminate the different areas of knowledge. Edicions Bromera and the Publications Service of the Universitat de València will publish jointly the awarded book in Valencian, in the collection ‘Sense Fronteres’.
The essays for the wide dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge aimed for winning the prize can be written in Valencian (or any other variation), Spanish, English or French. They must have a length of 100-200 sheets DIN A4, with double-spacing and one-sided. It is necessary to present a hard-original copy and also to attach a digital copy in order to participate. The works submitted must be original and unpublished and they can be presented under a pseudonym.
In 2017, the jury is composed of Pilar Campins Falcó, Vice-Principal for Research and Science Policy; Fernando Sapiña, director of the ‘Sense Fronteres’ collection; Andreu Escrivà, awarded winner in the 22nd edition; Carmen Agustín, researcher at Department of Cellular Biology, Functional Biology and Physical Anthropology; and Lucía Hipólito, researcher at the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology. The jury will use as weighting criteria the scientific interest, coherence, creativity, originality, expositive clearness, text structure and correct usage of syntax and spelling.
The awarded work will be published Friday 10th November 2017 and the prize will be given the same day during the award ceremony Ciutat d’Alzira.
