Calender for implementation and phasing out
The updated curriculum for the undergraduate degree in Optics and Optometry will take effect in the 2010-2010 academic year. According to Article 11.3 of the Royal Decree 1497/1987, of 27 November, the curriculum leading to an official 3-year degree in Optics and Optometry at the University of Valencia will be phased out, as published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) of 5 October 2000. The undergraduate degree will be introduced in a combined way in two stages: the 1st and 4th years in 2010-2011 and the 2nd and 3rd years in 2011-2012. The 3-year degree will gradually be phased out starting in 2008-2009. In any case, four exam attempts per subject will be offered during the following two academic years, establishing an equivalency programme that will enable students who have the 3-year degree to take similar subjects in the undergraduate degree programme.
