Agenda UV

The individual exhibition by Juan Marcos Giménez, coordinated by the Centro de Documentación de Arte Valenciano Contemporáneo “Roman de la Calle” (“Roman de la Calle” Documentation Centre of Contemporary Valencian Art) of the University of Valencia, will be exhibited at the room of the Ademuz Espacio de Arte (AEA). This is the third of six exhibitions addressed to the promotion of Valencian contemporary art developed by the last generations of artists and it has been scheduled thanks to the collaboration between the Real Acàdemia de Bellas Artes de Sant Carles (Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Sant Carles) of Valencia and Ámbito Cultural del Corte Inglés.

In the exhibition “Context” the photographer Juan Marcos Giménez show us a contemporary urban society through the portrait in public space. With a simple and sober style in the composition the artist unifies in a single scene character and environment. Thus, he alludes to the influence of current contexts on the individual and their identity. In current society where the image is the main character, his portraits delve into the construction that individuals make of their own image and the influences that these constructions receive.
