Lecture of María Marcela Lagarde. She is a full university professor at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. She has coined the term “feminicid” to describe the situation of Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, and she has managed the creation of a Special Committee on Feminicide in Congress to investigate the murder of women in Ciudad Juárez. She led the Diagnostic Research on Feminicide Violence in Mexico, by which it was discovered that feminicide is not unique to Ciudad Juárez.
