Presentation of “La ciutat de València. Síntesi d’Història i Geografia Urbana” (The city of València. A synthesis of its History and Urban Geography)

The presentation act of the new revised edition of Sanchis Guarner’s second work will take place on 9 April 2025 at the Rector Peset Hall of Residence.
On Wednesday, 9 April 2025, at 6:00pm, the Muralla Hall of the Rector Peset Hall of Residence will hold the presentation of the new edition of La ciutat de València. Síntesi d’Història i Geografia Urbana, work of Manuel Sanchis Guarner, who revolutionised what we knew about the evolution and urban heritage of the Valencian capital.

Professor Manuel Sanchis Guarner published this book in 1972, and became essential to get to know the history of the Valencian capital and appreciate its urban heritage. Now a new edition comes out half a century after its first publication by the hands of Josep Vicent Boira with updated contents and, above all, a revised graphic corpus. This enriched version offers a new look of the city, from its roman foundation all the way up to the 20th century architecture.
The act, which is to be streamed live at tv.uv.es, will be an opportunity to discover the contributions of this revised edition, to get to know the updating process of the work and explore its value as a point of reference for studies about València and its urban evolution.
