Online

This podcast is hosted and directed by Alfredo Grau, an expert in Sustainable Finance, and M. Josep Picó, an expert in Environmental Communication.

The EspaiPòdcastUV of the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication launches the programme Sustainable Finance & Greenwashing, hosted and directed by Alfredo Grau, Professor at the Faculty of Economics and an expert in sustainable finance, and Maria Josep Picó, Professor of Journalism and an expert in environmental and science communication. The programme also features the collaboration of David Mestre, an undergraduate student in Journalism, and receives technical support from Nacho Agote and Carlos Isach.

The first episode addresses the key foundations of sustainable finance and includes an interview with Isabel Giménez Zuriaga, Managing Director of the Foundation for Stock Exchange and Financial Studies of the Stock Exchange of València, as well as a European Union Climate Change Ambassador.

FINANCIAL LITERACY

The overall aim of this new podcast is “to inform and raise public awareness of the role of sustainable finance in the current economic and social context, rigorously analysing both its potential benefits and the risks associated with its implementation, with particular attention to the phenomenon of greenwashing,” the hosts explain.

Through a critical and accessible approach, the podcast “seeks to contribute to citizens’ financial literacy, with special emphasis on young people, promoting a deeper understanding of how financial decisions, corporate strategies, and public policies influence environmental, social, and governance sustainability,” argues Alfredo Grau.

PROMOTING CRITICAL THINKING

Likewise, according to Maria Josep Picó, the podcast “aims to foster critical thinking from the university to society at large, positioning the university as an active agent of knowledge transfer, informed debate, and civic awareness, through high-quality outreach content produced with academic rigour and social commitment.”
