1. HSKK exams
The level exam of oral Chinese (HSKK) assesses mainly the capacity of oral expression in Chinese language of the candidate; three levels are included: HSKK (basic level), HSKK (intermediate level) and HSKK (advanced level). The exam uses recordable format.
2. Exam goals
The HSKK (basic level) is mainly adapted to a study progress of Chinese language for one or two academic semesters with a frequency of two or three sessions a week, this means an use of vocabulary of about 200 words of frequent use by the candidate.

The candidate who passes the HSKK (basic level) can understand and express in Chinese language about everyday matters that are fairly familiar with him or her: it satisfies the basic necessities of communication.
The HSKK (basic level) is mainly adapted to a study progress of Chinese language for one or two academic years with a frequency of two or three sessions a week, this means an use of vocabulary of about 900 words of frequent use by the candidate.

The candidate who passes the HSKK (intermediate level) can understand and communicate with fairly fluency in Chinese language with Chinese native speakers.
The HSKK (basic level) is mainly adapted to a study progress of Chinese language for more than two academic years with a frequency of two or three sessions a week, this means an use of vocabulary of about 3.000 words of frequent use by the candidate.

The candidate who passes the HSKK (basic level) can understand and express in Chinese language with his own opinions.
3. Exam levels
The HSKK levels and the correspondence relationship that have with the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) and with the Chinese Language Proficiency Scales for Speakers of Other Languages (CLPS) are shown below:

4. Exam content
The HSKK (Basic level) is divided in three sections that include 27 items totally. The duration of the complete exam is approximately 17 minutes (including 7 minutes of preparation).
The first section consists in listening and then repeating, it contains a total of 15 items. A sentence is emitted in each item and the candidate, after listening it, will repeat it only once. The duration of this section of the exam is 4 minutes.
The second section consists in listening and then asking, it contains a total of 10 items. A question is emitted in each item and the candidate, after listening it, will answer succinctly and in a simple way. The duration of this section of the exam is 3 minutes.
The third section consists in answering questions. It contains a total of 12 items. On the exam sheet there will be two questions and the candidate will answer them after reading them. The duration of this section of the exam is 5 minutes.
5. Results announcement
A month after finishing the exam, the candidates will receive the announcement of the results of the HSKK sent by Hanban.
The results of HSKK will be valid for a long period of time. As capacity proof in Chinese language of the foreign students who join in education Chinese institutions to study, the result of HSKK will have a 2 years period of validity (from the day of the exam).
The perfect score of HSKK (Basic, intermediate or advanced level) is 100, while the pass score is 60.
