Cultural observatories are playing a key role in promoting dialogue between the various actors in the cultural sector. Both the generation of specific knowledge for this sector and the systematisation and critical analysis of this knowledge form part of the various tasks that can be carried out by these entities. When cultural observatories are attached to a public university, they also fulfil a fundamental service in the field of cultural public policies. From this place, they collaborate with the understanding of cultural phenomena, contributing to public debate from an academic context.
