Naixen oliveres a Gaza (Olive trees are born in Gaza) explores from different points of view the Palestinian resistance drawn from an “us” that arises from exercises of presence and visibility.
These words from the Quran, “Perseveres with the beauty of perseverance” guide a clear vindication in which light and beauty are presented as a support of the organ of hope that we should not shun. Because even now, there are births, despite the ruin and the destruction: even in the gap, an olive tree keeps growing, that significant tree for Palestine, and for peace. In the slot, in that in between, lives a cry of life and possibility that can not be silenced.
Because the subject of hope is the plural that speaks, an “us” in which the being in its gerund and in its practice filters irremediably in forms of correspondences and dialogue: even if hostility is the livelihood, that green shoot that goes everywhere full of existence perseveres.
The collective project guided by Escif + Brilloysabor Studio relies on works from Palestinian photojournalists such as Majdi Fathi and the pieces of Lamia Ziadé,
Emily Jacir, Blu, Shepard Fairey or Sam3, which establish a dialogue with the contributions of different organisations like UNRWA, BDS País Valencià or the Centre Delàs d'Estudis per la Pau.
