Samming is a miner looking for a woman. Shen Hong is a nurse looking for a man. This story about loneliness and love shows us a country which is in the middle of a transformation, an image that is dominated by the building of the Three Gorges dam which future is to provide with energy a new China, a new China which is still guilty of the usual sins.
