The Escola Coral La Nau of the Universitat de València opened its enrolment period for new students of the 2023-2024 academic year, and in all groups, the registration deadline will remain open until all the places are filled.

Rehearsals will take place on Mondays, from 2nd October 2023 until 10 June 2024, in the Principal Peset Hall of Residence (Forn de Sant Nicolau square 4, València). La Escola Coral, directed by Mònica Perales, is formed by three choirs: Mestral, for children from 4 years old to 1st year of primary school; Garbí, from 2nd to 6th year of primary school; and Tramuntana, from ESO onwards. The schedule will be as follows:

- Mestral Choir: from 17:45 to 18:30 h.

- Garbí Choir: from 18:30 to 19:15 h.

- Tramuntana Choir: from 19:15 to 20:15 h.

Music reading classes, for Garbí and Tramuntana choirs will have the following timetable:

- Garbí Choir (I): from 17:45 to 18:30 h.

- Garbí Choir (II): from 19:15 to 20 h.

- Tramuntana Choir: from 18:30 to 19:15 h.

The Escola Coral La Nau was created in 2002 in the Universitat de València with the aim of accommodate music training through choral interpretation for students from four years old. It departs from the premise that song is the basic element for organising a good music teaching, an excellent spontaneous way of expression and an important element of human training.

Voice is an exceptional instrument that we carry in our body. It is proven that singing in groups has incredible benefits, since it contributes to self-esteem development, motivation and self-control, among others. In children, benefits of choral singing increase, since not only does it helps to language and memory evolution, but also to the improvement of concentration and to the increase of social intelligence.
