Permanent Seminar Women, Art and Antiquity - BREAKING TOPICS III

THE PERMANENT SEMINAR BREAKING TOPICS DEDICATES ITS III EDITION TO REFLECTING ON THE RELATIONSHIP OF WOMEN WITH ARCHITECTURAL SPACES IN ANTIQUITY

The Permanent Seminar Breaking Topics, promoted by the Department of Art History of the University of Valencia through the ARSMAYA Research Group, will analyze in its III Edition the close relationship that existed in ancient cultures between women and architectural spaces , in which they not only performed reproductive functions, but also productive ones of interest to the community. The first of these sessions will be held on November 2 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Joan Fuster Room of the Faculty of Geography and History of the University of Valencia, and will visualize the theme in the ancient Mediterranean. Next, on November 22 between 4 and 8 p.m., the second session will take place in the GH classroom. 1.2, which will focus primarily on the Mayan area. Following what has been done in previous years, the III Permanent Seminar Breaking Topics crosses different subjects and groups of the Degree in Art History, thus involving a large and diverse number of students.

As in previous editions, the activity materializes one of the actions included in the Teaching Innovation Project of the ARSMAYA Research Group (2022-2023), which has the support of the Permanent Training and Educational Innovation Service of the University of Valencia (SFPIE-UV) and the Faculty of Geography and History, as it is part of one of the strategic lines of the Center's Innovation Plan for this 2022-2023 academic year.
