Workshop encompassed in the 36th Summer University of Gandia
Overview
This workshop aims to reflect on the possibilities of being men in other way, being a man in many ways. We aim to address this critical perspective of the traditional and hegemonic masculinity model that we still have in our minds and rethink us in other scenarios where we renounce to patriarchal privileges and start to value emotions and ideas that were forbidden for men until now. In general, what this workshop aims to achieve is raise awareness on the possible different types of men that move away from the macho model and that are healthier and fairer for everyone. Coordinator: Joan Sanfélix Albelda, sociologist. Master’s degree in Gender and Equality Policies. Doctor in Gender Studies by the UHM Elche. Associated professor of the UV. Member of the group Valencian Men for Equality.
