First-year students in the Geography and Environment and Information and Documentation degree programs participate in Baula, a support initiative designed to facilitate the transition to university studies at the University of Valencia.

Each student in the program is assigned a Baula mentor—a faculty member with whom they hold individual and group sessions throughout the academic year—to help guide them during this initial stage and foster a more successful academic journey.

Additionally, the program includes a short workshop offering resources and strategies to improve academic performance, as well as a free learning advisory service to help students more effectively manage out-of-class work and exam preparation. Participation in four of the program's five activities (sessions and workshop) earns students 1.5 ECTS credits.

The Baula program is driven by the Vice-Rectorate for Studies and Quality, through the Rector's Delegate for Academic Pathways, and is managed by the Student Information and Dynamization Service (Sedi). It operates in collaboration with the five centers involved in this fourth edition: the ETSE-UV and the Faculties of Social Sciences; Geography and History; Nursing and Podiatry; and Psychology and Speech Therapy.
