This Wednesday, 9 September, the Faculty of Geography and History will host a conversation with the students responsible for the project, followed by a collective activation to complete the installation of the Good Practice Code vinyl graphics
This Wednesday, 9 September, at 12 noon, the Board Room of the Faculty of Geography and History will host the presentation of ‘Codi de trames: Collective Activation and Conversation’, an artistic initiative promoted by the Dean’s Office with the support of the Equality Unit.
Over the past few days, small magenta vinyl graphics have appeared in different areas of the Faculty. These interventions form part of a project that brings the Good Practice Code into the Faculty’s everyday spaces, making the Code more visible, accessible and present in university life.
The initiative uses artistic expression as a means of communication and awareness-raising. Rather than confining the Code to a reference document, the project incorporates the Code into the Faculty’s routes, communal areas and shared spaces. In this way, the vinyl graphics invite the university community to recognise and put good practice into effect in everyday relationships and communal life.
Conversation and collective participation
The activity will begin with a short discussion with the students who have taken part in the project’s design and installation. The conversation will provide an opportunity to learn about the creative process, the decisions behind the project, and the way in which the contents of the Code have been translated into a visual intervention distributed throughout the building.
This will be followed by a collective artistic action, during which those attending will be able to help install the remaining vinyl graphics and complete the intervention. The project will therefore be brought to completion through the direct involvement of the Faculty community.
‘Codi de trames’ brings together artistic creation, university participation and a commitment to relationships founded on respect and good practice. The initiative transforms the Faculty’s spaces into active channels of communication and offers a participatory way of making the values that should guide university life more visible.
The activity is open to the entire university community.
