The management of those contaminated material and the its sources when they are no longer useful, shall be done according to the general principles of radiation protection and, in the case of solid waste, following the recommendations of CSN’s Safety Guide “Gestión de materiales residuales sólidos con contenido radiactivo generados en instalaciones radiactivas” (“Management of solid waste materials with radioactive content produced in radioactive facilities”). Every evacuation of radioactive effluents and waste must be under a strict control, demanding the express permission of the Ministry of Economy, after a report from the CSN, and will comply to the limits and conditions established in it, focusing on the characteristics of the practice.
