Yury Barmenkov

Yury O. Barmenkov received the Ph.D. degree in radio-physics and electronics from the Leningrad (St. Petersburg) State Technical University, Leningrad, Russia, in 1991. He was a Professor Assistant and then a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Experimental Physics, the St. Petersburg State Technical University, Russia, from 1991 to 1996. Since 1996, he has been a Research Professor at the Centro de Investigaciones en Óptica, Leon, Gto., Mexico. He is a National Researcher (SNI-III), Mexico and a Regular Member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences. He visited, for several periods, the Department of Applied Physics, the University of Valencia, Spain, as a Research Fellow, and the University of Joensuu, Finland, as a visiting scientist. His current research activity includes fiber lasers, fiber optic sensors, and nonlinear optics of optical fibers.

Christian Cuadrado-Laborde

Christian Cuadrado-Laborde received his Ph.D. degree in physics from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP, Argentina, 2005). Since 2005, he has successively served as Postdoctoral Researcher, Assistant Researcher, Associate Researcher, and currently Independent Researcher for the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET, Argentina, 2005), with workplace in the Instituto de Física Rosario (IFIR, Argentina). He was awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Science with a research fellow position to join the Laboratory of Fiber Optics group of the Universidad de Valencia (UV, Spain) during 2008–2009, since then he has continued working with this group as a visiting Professor. His current research interests include all-fiber lasers and photonic signal processing.

Miguel A. Bello-Jiménez

Miguel A. Bello-Jiménez received the Ph.D. degree in optics from the National Institute for Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE), Mexico, in 2010. He joined the Departamento de Física Aplicada y Electromagnetismo at the University of Valencia, Spain, from 2010 to 2012, where he was engaged in the research on acousto-optic effects and actively mode-locked fiber lasers. Currently, he is Profesor-Investigador at the Instituto de Investigación en Comunicación Óptica (IICO) in the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí (UASLP), Mexico. His current research interests include nonlinear effects, fiber-optic devices, and fiber lasers.
