  • Nanometer devices development

IDM is working on the development of “molecular nanoscopic doors”; molecule anchoring which act as “doors” in pore opening of mesoporous systems which allow controlling the access and exit of the pore’s interior substances within the dissolution or vice versa.

In the medium term it is intended to have “molecular doors” activated by ionic impulses (pH, the presence of specific cations or anions, etc.), electrochemical (redox processes) and photochemical. These systems’ applications is related to the manufacturing of liberation systems. In this sense, IDM is collaborating with different Technologic Centres in the Valencian Community for controlled biocide liberation (such as its application in the furniture industry to fight xylophages), anticorrosion agents (in order to actively prevent degradation in concrete structures), etc.

Other application fields are related to the use of nanparticular systems for the development of conventional sensors in thick-film technology and the use nanoparticles like inmunoen protocol markers.
