Biography
 

José Fernando Carrero Martín holds a PhD from the Universitat de València and has been a professor at this institution since 2018, currently as an assistant professor. He has also been an external lecturer at the Universidad Internacional de Valencia and the Instituto Superior de Estudios Lingüísticos y de Traducción. He is also a member of the CiTrans (Comunicación Intercultural y Traducción) research group. He holds a degree in Translation and Interlinguistic Mediation and a Master's degree in Creative and Humanistic Translation. He has worked as a professional translator and has experience in the fields of technical, audiovisual, and tourism translation, interpreting, and project management. In addition, he has collaborated as a text coder for the CORPES XXI (Corpus del Español del Siglo XXI) project of the Royal Spanish Academy (team from the Universitat de València). He has also been a member of the boards of directors of the Spanish Association of Translators and Interpreters in Training (AETI) and La Xarxa – Network of Translators and Interpreters of the Valencian Community. His main lines of research are audiovisual translation and its history, descriptive translation studies, and the professional field of translation.

Biography
 

Beatriz Reverter Oliver is a lecturer in the Department of Theory of Languages and Communication Sciences. She has also been a member of the CiTrans research group since 2016 (http://citrans.uv.es/) and of IULMA (https://iulma.es/) since 2024.

Beatriz holds a degree in Translation and Interlinguistic Mediation from the University of Valencia (French–Spanish and English–Spanish), for which she received the Academic Excellence Award in 2013. In 2015, she completed the Master’s in Creative and Humanistic Translation, and in 2017, the Master’s in Secondary Education Teaching, both of which earned her two Extraordinary Master’s Awards. In 2019, she obtained her PhD in the program Languages, Literatures, Cultures and their Applications (cum laude).

To date, Beatriz has worked as a translator and as a foreign language teacher, both in France and in Spain, where she taught French in public Secondary and High Schools in the Valencian Community. She has also worked as an Associate Lecturer in the Department of French and Italian Philology at the University of Valencia, as a lecturer at the International University of Valencia, and as a supervisor of Master’s theses at the Higher Institute of Linguistic Studies and Translation. Furthermore, she served as an Assistant Professor at Rey Juan Carlos University during the 2024–2025 academic year.

Her main research interests are audiovisual translation, accessibility, and inclusive education.

Biography
 

Mabel Richart-Marset is a professor at the University of Valencia where she teaches Conference Interpreting in the Translation and Interlinguistic Mediation degree (TMI). She participates in several university master's degrees at the UV (Master's Degree in Creative and Humanistic Translation, Master's Degree in Creative Writing, etc...), where she teaches Audiovisual Translation,  Literature and Cinema, and Literary Translation, among others.

She has been coordinator of the Degree in Translation and Interlinguistic Mediation (TMI) and coordinates since 2008 the area of Translation and Interpreting of the Department of Teoria dels Llenguatges i Ciències de la Comunicació. She is also a visiting professor at several American universities where she teaches seminars on film and translation. In 2017 she was named Distinguished Visiting Professor by the University of Virginia.

She holds a PhD in Audiovisual Communication and is the author of seven books and numerous articles on film studies, audiovisual translation, conference interpreting and discourse analysis. She has given several lectures as guest speaker at national and foreign universities, among them: "Intersemiotic Translation and Intertextuality: From Texts to Films" (Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand), "Translating Silence: From Philomela and Penelope to the Present" (University of Virginia), "La Angustia ante la traducción de las UFS" (University of Veracruz, Mexico), "Manipulación y reescritura en la traducción para el doblaje" (Universitat Jaume I), "Teoría de la traducción y práctica del doblaje" (Universitat de Vic) and "De pantuflas y pianos: la Tristana de Luis Buñuel. Claves de una traducción intersemiótica(University of Virginia), etc....

Her books include Narración y Deformación en "Cielo Negro" de Mur Oti (Episteme, 2000),  La alegría de transformar: teorías de la traducción y teoría del doblaje (Tirant lo Blanch, 2009), Fraseología y traducción: una semiótica difusa (PUV, 2010) and Ideología y Traducción. Por un análisis genético del doblaje (Biblioteca Nueva, 2012) among others.

Biography
 

Stefan Schmidt has been an associate professor at the University of Valencia since 2012. In the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Interpreting, he teaches the subjects ‘Techniques and Practices of German-Spanish/Catalan Interpreting I and II’ and ‘The Translator's Professions’. He also supervises several final degree projects (TFG) each year. Stefan is German by birth and completed his studies at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität in Freiburg i. Br. with a double Master's degree (M.A.) in German Philology and History. He has lived in Valencia for over 25 years and has been working as a freelance translator and interpreter in German, Spanish, Valencian and English since 2005. He has also designed and implemented several online German courses and is co-author of the books ‘Español para vagos’ I and II, published by Langenscheidt.

Biography
 

I am a translator and interlinguistic mediator (UV), with a degree in Philosophy (UCM) and a master's degree in Communicative Language and Hispanic Linguistics (UNED). I have dedicated my professional activity as a translator to the humanistic and legal specialties. Furthermore, I am a conference interpreter and I combine my professional activity with the university academic world, where I am a professor in the Department of Theory of Languages and Communication Sciences (UV), focusing my research on intercultural communication and translation processes.
