EDUCATIONAL PROJECT: THREE SPEECHES ON THE SKY OVER NINE COLUMNS

Fourth year students of the Bachelor's Degree in Art History at the University of Valencia have carried out the blog "Heinz Mack Project. The Sky Over Nine Colums".

The blog is part of a broader educational project, "The Sky Over Nine Colums", which revolves around the work of the German painter, Heinz Mack, and has been organized by the Prince Felipe Science Museum in the City of Arts and the Sciences of Valencia.

Laura Gómez, Victoria Herrera, Jara López, Odeta Miruna, Nohemi Serrano and Víctor Teruel are the students who have been investigating the work of Heinz Mack, "Nine Colums", recently exhibited at the City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia .

The aim of the project is to use a joint strategy to develop an educational project adapted to different levels, associated with the exhibition “The Sky over Nine Columns” by the German artist Heinz Mack (1931, Lollar, Hesse). This was inaugurated on June 24, 2016 and the piece remained in the South Lake of the Hemisfèric until November 6.

The teaching / learning methodology chosen is called Project-Based Learning or Project-Based Learning, in addition to being accompanied by the multidisciplinary education system STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths). The approach to the research comes from the global coordinator of the project and responsible for didactics of the Department. of Disclosure of the aforementioned museum, José Antonio Gordillo Martorell, and consists of:

  • Establish an interaction with the scientific methodology.
  • Approach the work of art as exploration and as research.
  • Conceive the figure of the artist as a researcher and not only as a representative of reality.
