The historical collection took part in the Cabinet-Museum of Natural History of the Universidad Literaria of Valencia. A fire caused the loss of a major part of the funds of the collection. Sources of the epoch confirmed us that, during the fire, a volunteering team was formed who, together with firefighters and local forces, participated in the removal of some pieces of the collection before being hit by the flames. Temporally, these samples were deposited in short-term stays of the Patriarca’s Church, since they would be reconnected to new emplacements of the university. The funds of collection were increased between 1933 and 1966 with taxidermy specimens of the ancient Zoological Park of Viveros, private and institutions’ donations. Nowadays, the major part of these samples are exhibited in the collections of the Museum of the Natural History of the Universitat de València.
